What is True Beauty?
A year after my bone marrow transplant, I decided I needed to get healthier in body, soul, and spirit. As I shared about this new journey on Facebook, I found that other women wanted to grow healthier in every area of their lives as well. July 2014, I started the first True Beauty group on Facebook. We are an accountability group that encourages, supports and prays for women as they walk on their path of life.
True Beauty’s Purpose: (all scripture is from the New Living Translation)
To be a place of accountability
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17
To be a place of support
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
To be a place where we care for each other
Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly – not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. 1 Peter 5:2-3
To pray for one another
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16
